State Senator Phil Fortunato plans to introduce a bill to nix sanctuary policies throughout Washington.
“So we’re going to have an anti-sanctuary state policy based on the Florida model where you cannot have a sanctuary city within the state of Washington,” he said.
He says the bill is needed. Fortunato points to three recent incidents when people were let out of jail in King County, then went on to become murder suspects. All three were in the country illegally. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was not notified that they were in local custody or were being released from jail.Fortunato hails from Auburn. He’s running for governor as a Republican.
